Can I avoid estimated energy bills?

Estimated meter reading accounts for the majority of incorrect invoicing problems that Smith Bellerby deals with on a day-to-day basis. Meters are now available which contain a communication device (usually a mobile phone SIM card) which can be programmed to send a meter reading every day, or every hour, or even every minute to a data collection centre and thence to the electricity or gas meter operator. No more estimated bills!
