How can I find the telephone number associated with a BT wall point that we haven't used for a while?

If you are having difficulty identifying your telephone lines you can discover the telephone number of a BT direct exchange line (DEL) by keying 17070 into any handset connected to the line. An automated voice recording will then read back the line number to you. This is the facility used by BT engineers for testing lines.
