Software is now readily available, often at no cost from the mobile networks, which will allow you to broadcast SMS messages to a pre-selected group of mobile numbers. This can be particularly useful if you want to alert a number of remote teams that a service needs to be performed, so that the nearest team can respond. You can also use it as part of a communication strategy to let customers know when service dates are due to change, for example refuse collection dates.
