Nokia has identified that a batch of Nokia BL-5C batteries from their supplier Matsushita could, in vary rare cases, overheat whilst charging (not whilst being used).
Although Nokia has several suppliers this only applies to the 46 million manufactured by Matsushita between December 2005 and November 2006. There have been approx. 100 incidents of overheating reported globally and no serious injuries or property damage has been reported.
The Nokia BL-5C Battery is used with the following phones:
