EPBD Display Energy Certification (DEC) service launched

Smith Bellerby announces launch of Energy Performance in Buildings Display Energy Certification (DEC) service using the i-prophets software platform.
Under Article 7 of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive, Display Energy Certificates are required for buildings that are (a) occupied by a public authority or an institution providing a public service to a large number of persons and (b) have a total useful area greater than 1000m2.
We are committed to ensuring that our clients are able to comply fully with the legislation well before the deadline of 1 October 2008. Hence, starting in mid-May 2008, we will offer a Display Energy Certification service using the i-prophets software platform.
Our service will include:
- advice on which buildings are affected by the legislation;
- collation of all the necessary energy usage data;
- interviews with client's staff to gather all other pertinent building information;
- analysis of all data using approved software;
- full sign off by an accredited energy assessor;
- all lodgement fees;
- hard copy production of certificates and advisory report; and,
- a process to generate renewal certificate in years 2 and 3.
Our service will be tailored to suit each client's needs. Some will want a complete service, from collection of the energy and building data right through to production of the certificates, whilst others will wish to undertake parts of the process themselves.
