- MMS
- Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a standard for telephony messaging systems that allows sending messages that include multimedia objects (images, audio, video, rich text) and not just text as in Short Message Service (SMS). It is mainly deployed in cellular networks along with other messaging systems like SMS, Mobile Instant Messaging and Mobile E-mail.
- MPAN
- A Meter Point Administration Number also known as MPAN, Supply Number or S-Number is a 21 digit reference, used in Great Britain to uniquely identify electricity supply points, such as individual domestic residences; the gas equivalent is the Meter Point Reference Number.
- MPAS
- Meter Point Administration Service. Provides information regarding electricity supply to properties in their distribution network areas and regulates the registration process between electricity suppliers
- MPRN
- The Meter Point Reference Number is the equivalent for gas supply to the MPAN used for electricity supply
- MW
- Megawatt = 1,000 kW
- MWh
- Megawatthour = 1,000kWh
- National Grid Transco
- Operates the high voltaae national electricity transmission network and the gas transportation networks in England and Wales.
- National offtake
- A gas metering point defining the boundary between the national transmission system and theLocal Distribution Zone.
- National transmission system
- The high-pressure network of pipes that transports gas between terminals, storage facilities and Local Distribution Zones for local distribution.
- Network code
- Legal and operational framework that defines the right and obligations of National Grid Transco and gas shippers/suppliers.
