Established in 1999, we are one of the UK's leading independent business cost management consultancy practices, reducing the direct and indirect costs associated with the procurement, management and ongoing usage of utilities for a growing number of public and private sector clients throughout the UK.
Our client portfolio includes organisations from both the public and private sectors; from large corporates and local authorities to relatively small companies spending less than £20,000 a year on their utilities.

We have a 5-step approach to success:
As the diagram shows, the process is not linear, but can go through many iterations to ensure that each client is gaining the maximum cost benefit. This is because businesses change; their markets change; and the utility market itself is constantly changing and only by constantly re-evaluating our recommendations are we able to consistently deliver best value.
We are committed to working with our clients to:
We seek to work only with organisations whose business ethics are of the very highest order, and we aim to at least match this ourselves in the way that we deal with our clients, our suppliers, and our clients' suppliers.

Smith Bellerby Limited are full members of The Association of Cost Management Consultants (ACMC).
The way in which we work with our clients is regulated by the ACMC Code of Conduct, which can be accessed by clicking on the link below:

By helping other organisations (our clients) to reduce their carbon footprint, we believe that we are making a positive contribution to the environment. However, we are always looking to reduce our own impact on the environment.
At Smith Bellerby we believe in protecting our environment by ensuring that we are as "green" as is feasibly possible. We will continually monitor our Environmental Policy by looking at where we are able to "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" in all our business dealings.
As we become aware of new technologies that may help to reduce our clients' environmental impact, we will obviously make them fully aware of these developments and will also publicise details using our monthly e-Newsletter, so that all our clients may benefit.
We will only undertake business travel if it is absolutely unavoidable. Where business travel cannot be avoided we will try to minimise it's impact by using public transport wherever reasonably possible.
At Smith Bellerby we will ensure that all employees are aware of the company's Environmental Policy. We insist that all employees act in accordance with the policy and encourage them to highlight any areas where continuous improvement can be made to reduce our environmental impact.
Smith Bellerby will only purchase items that have already been recycled or which can be recycled/reused when they are no longer required by the business.
In circumstances where waste means waste - i.e. an item can not be reused, recycled or reduced - then we will ensure that the waste contractors used to dispose of these materials hold the necessary licences and legal documentation to carry out the disposal on our behalf in a manner that is least damaging to the environment.
